Sounds like scareware. Probably a bogus Eastern Europe scam to get you to pay up. I would say it's bullshit, because if you really were on a government watch list the government wouldn't tell you. So there's that, too. Don't give them any money.

If it is legit, it seems semicraptastic. I have a super common last name, and a first name that isn't real common, so usually there isn't a bunch of other people that share my name when I do searches. It showed a TON of other people with my name, and none of them were actually me.

From what I can tell from doing research that I should have done earlier, this is a network of "moving" companies based in florida who run the same scam: use a broker to hide the company's name, show up the day of the move and strong-arm the victim into paying the extortion rates, then hiding their stuff until they pay more.

Im about to apply for a clearance so i thought id just do a background report on myself via this TruthFinder website, and it comes back saying im on a government watch list? What the heck. It sounded like this was a legit website from what i gathered.

Truthfinder.com is if not a scam, damn close to one. They tell you they can find information on anyone. If you try to use the service it takes many steps, all slow, then it asks for your name and email, then they tell you you have to pay. I was kind of expecting that after a minute, but that should be up front.
